You already know how to use this feature — you've been swiping through everything else on your phone for years. Now rental search works the same way.
Browse listings on Rentably from your phone and every card in your search results responds to a swipe:
- Swipe right to save. ❤️ The listing gets a heart and lands in your saved list so you can come back, compare, and apply when you're ready. Saving takes a free account — that's what keeps your list with you across devices.
- Swipe left to hide. ✕ Not your place? Swipe it away and it's gone — not just from this search, but from every search you run after. No account needed; your phone simply remembers.
The first time you browse, the top card gives you a little nudge to show you the gesture. After that, it's muscle memory.
Why we built it
Rental hunting has a volume problem. A search in a busy city returns hundreds of listings, and most of them aren't for you — wrong area, wrong layout, that one with the carpeted bathroom. Scrolling past the same rejects every day is how house hunting turns into a chore.
Swiping fixes both halves of that:
- Your yes pile builds itself. Every right-swipe goes to your saved list, so your shortlist grows while you browse instead of being a separate job.
- Your no pile stays gone. Every left-swipe permanently clears a listing out of your way. Each search gets cleaner — by your third session you're only seeing places you haven't judged yet, plus whatever's newly listed.
It's the difference between reading the whole menu every visit and having a waiter who remembers what you don't order.
Changed your mind?
Hidden isn't deleted. Every listing you've swiped away lives on your hidden listings page, and one tap restores it to your searches. So swipe freely — nothing is lost, and second thoughts are cheap.
A couple of details worth knowing:
- Hidden listings are remembered on the device you swiped them on — they're your browsing preferences, not part of an account profile.
- Saved listings do follow your account, so sign in and your hearts are waiting for you on any device.
